Our Approach In Berkshire At Alcohol Rehab Berkshire

You will immediately feel a sense of warmth, of positivity, of hope and a caring family atmosphere when you walk into one of our treatment centres.

Unfortunately, a large number of the people we work with only know how to act in a way that looks after their main focus; to avoid the negative feelings and thoughts and escape the reality they are constantly experiencing and re-enforcing.

Several individuals who are dependent to drugs and alcohol exist in a community where standard regulation and social policies are not being adhered to. Their actions can in certain situations be unethical and not in accordance with their own set of values, but they also commonly have inefficient limitations.

Regrettably they adopt these behaviours strongly with an example being an individual who is so immersed in lying that they begin to believe their lies as being what is true. Broken relationships are often the only surrounding in which some of our patients know how to act; the embarrassment and guilt they feel don't allow them to seek help or to apologize and they are not able to experience real love. Selfish pursuit of substance does not give them the time nor purpose to care for others because they have lost the ability to care for themselves and their compulsive.

What we are attempting to do at Alcohol Rehab Berkshire is to alter all these. With our detox therapy, we accomplish the first step on the list, which is getting rid of drugs or alcohol.

Alcohol Rehab Berkshire can offer a medically assisted withdrawal that is supervised by a private medical practitioner and observed by a registered nurse who forms part of our team.

Once we are done ridding the individual's body from any residue of the drug, we then proceed with cleansing the spirit and mind through our basic and supplementary day rehab programmes.

We make available a secure, private environment where people can take stock of themselves (their feelings and thoughts), who they truly are and who they wish to become. We also offer an atmosphere with rules and limits which offer the containment and structure. Simple rules such as being in the group on time, show our clients that the world is a place with standards which are there for fairness and to keep people secure. We endeavour to inspire optimism by way of example; for instance the knowledge that one of our specialists also went through drug dependency and has remained sober for over a decade now shows clients that this is possible.

We start to empower people throughout the treatment process to build positive relationships. The primary thing we make sure is to establish a family-like atmosphere in which clients begin to establish relationship with other individuals who are also seeking treatment, having mutual feeling of being able to fit in, restoring confidence in their respective families by way of consistent interactions with them. The next step involves enabling people to redirect their line of thinking, accommodate their own feelings and eventually change their behaviour. We also familiarise our clients with the 12-step program (really basic and practical tools that have been assisting people to get sober for almost a century).

We let our patients make mistakes so they can learn from them, but we also encourage them to see what they should see when they are not able. By employing the powerful system of the quasi-residential living model and the programme, we in addition equip our clients to get a brand new assortment of positive 'learned' behaviours; by residing in shared housing and forming part of the community, by having some onus to look after money, complete weekly shopping, prepare food for themselves and reside in the community, our clients are being taught each day how to 'live' in the outside world without requiring a drug to assist them.

Every single day spent in treatment is an essential step towards success in the long run.

We also focus on supporting the family members and close friends of our clients.

This is absolutely critical so at Alcohol Rehab Berkshire, family members have an opportunity to meet others who have been through the same experience and learn how to support the client after treatment because it is people that will have to live with our clients after treatment.
